Fathers Groups to Host June 8 “Let Us Be Dads” Event
Oxford, WI/June 2, 2014: Dads of Wisconsin President Steve Blake and Wisconsin Fathers for Children and Families President Mike Landwehr encourage disenfranchised dads and their supporters to attend a pro-fatherhood “Let Us Be Dads” rally at the Capitol on June 8.
Speakers will include State Representative Scott Krug (R-72), 59th District Assembly Candidate Bill Savage (R), WFCF Co-Founder Jim Novak, “ex-husband sale” Eric King, and retired LCSW Don Hillbig. Music will be provided by the rock and roll band kittens?.
There are approximately one million divorces in the United States each year, and many of those children lose all contact with their fathers. “Children have the right to have their fathers in their lives, and it isn’t happening under current law,” says Blake, “We need to show lawmakers how many dads are prevented from fully parenting their children.”
“Women will never truly get equality in the workplace while we purposefully teach our children inequality in the homeplace” adds past WFCF President Peter Kerr. The June 8 rally will be held from 2 to 4 pm on the State Street steps of the Capitol in Madison.
